The first GSX-R1000 replaced the 750 as Suzuki’s flagship with a 988cc inline-four in a chassis barely larger than the middleweight’s, producing a power-to-weight ratio that redefined the litre class. Raw and hugely quick. Each GSX-R1000 silencer is made to order in Staffordshire, TIG welded by hand.
