The first Versys 1000 took the 1043cc inline-four from the Z1000 family, retuned it for mid-range flexibility and wrapped it in long-travel suspension and upright adventure-tourer ergonomics. It offered the comfort and luggage capacity of a big adventure bike without the weight of a shaft-driven twin. Kawasaki revised the bodywork substantially for 2019, so this generation takes its own fitment. The silencer is built to order at Blueflame’s Staffordshire workshop, TIG welded throughout.
