The 2008 Fireblade was a substantial redesign, dropping weight and adopting a compact 999cc inline-four making around 178hp along with the underslung silencer that centralised mass. It brought Honda back to the sharp end of the litre class. The Fireblade silencer is built to order at Blueflame’s Staffordshire workshop, TIG welded throughout.
