The first R 1200 RT paired the air and oil-cooled 1170cc boxer with a full touring fairing, electrically adjustable screen and integrated luggage, shedding weight over the R 1150 RT while gaining power. A benchmark tourer of its day. Each R 1200 RT silencer is made to order in Staffordshire, TIG welded by hand.
